History
Circa 1998 Linux games were few and most of them lacked the features MS-DOS or Windows games had, like sound and 256+ colors. So I tried to create a game with that, colors, sound, and the feel of those classic arcade games.
In March or April 1999, I started coding the game, I wanted to run it in 320x200 because I liked that resolution on DOS games, so I used SVGAlib. At first I thought in implementing a lot of cool stuff, like an animated menu, a flying Linberto, or having coins as rewards for landing over some cubes. But those things turned out to be slow (lots of concurrent animation) or take too much time to code, so I dropped those ideas.
To design the enemies I had many ideas, for example these two enemies a killer tomato and a green monster. But I ended up drawing a bubble (to trap Linberto) and a flower pot (to crush it).
And after a month of hard work (I worked on it the whole day), I released version 1.0.0 on May 4th 1999.
